Some really good things about Microsoft Office Project Server
2003 and Project Server 2007
#8: Project managers have always used spreadsheets
right along with project management software and
Office Project Server 2003 and Project Server
2007 make it easy to work with Excel.
As
far back as we go to the mid 1980s, project
managers have wanted to take records from
project management software without an export
routine, display that
information and also keep the outline structure.
In addition, regardless of the online tool you are using, it
isn't as easy to view data in a browser as it is
in desktop software like Excel.
Now with Project Web Access (PWA) you can just
pop any grid on your screen right over to Excel.
Click on the Export Grid to Excel and off it
goes.

In Excel, the same date is displayed and the
outline structure is maintained.

If you are viewing a project plan in PWA, you can
export the grid in the same way and the WBS
stays
intact in Excel.
